Blue Contacts for Light Eyes

Finding the right shade of blue for eyes that are already blue or light colored is easy and there are loads of brands to try. Translucent “enhancer” lenses let your natural blue color show throw while adding a tint of aqua, turquoise, or cornflower.

Blue Contacts for Dark Eyes

Blue contacts that work on brown, hazel or black eyes are a little bit different. The color in the lens is opaque, covering up your natural color so that only blue shows.

Note: If you have light eyes, you can use these too!

Some blue opaques to try:

Acuvue 2 Colors Opaques

Most popular brand for dark or light eyes. Solid color-changing contact lens.

What happens with an enhancer tint on dark eyes?

Good question! Obviously you won’t see the intended color change because the dark eye pigments overpower the translucent tint in the lens. However, if you have light brown or hazel, enhancer tints that have a jade or yellow base can produce some subtle changes. But…NOT blue!

If you’re dark eyed and want blue, don’t waste your money on enhancer tints. Stick to opaques like Natural Touch Baby Blue or Acuvue 2 Colors Deep Blue.

On a final note, so many people want perfect blue colored contacts that look natural and fit comfortably. However, so much depends on your own unique eye shape, color. What fits great on one person may be look and feel completely different on you. So, be prepared to try a few brands AND a few different shades to get the blue that looks perfect on YOU!

Please note: contact lenses, even if worn for cosmetic reasons, are medical devices that should be worn under the prescription, direction, and supervision of an eye care professional.
